Going to Knaresborough and Ripley

Last Sunday, pegi Knaresborough and Ripley di Harrogate. Tujuan utama nak pegi jelajah carboots kat sana tapi malangnya semua carboot yg kitaorg nak pegi tak bukak..nampak padang kosong je. Dahla memang semangat gilerrr pagi tu. Siap bangun pkul 5 pagi lagi. Siap2 awal sebab nak gerak pagi2..After that, kitaorg visit Knaresborough Castle dari pegi takde pape. Tapi bagus jgk keluar pagi2 sbab tak de org..best je layan lepak kt castle tu..tepi castle ada sungai( River Nidd) with view yg sangat cantik..and kita boleh naik boat kat sungai tu. tapi tak dptla nak naik boat sb bahaya plak bawak Aisha..castle ni dipercayai dibina sekitar 1100. rasa mcm kagum je tgk castle yg hmpir seribu tahun tapi masih ada kesan tinggalan.. :-)

Kemudian pegi plak Ripley yg tak jauh dari Knaresborough..nak pegi carboot gak tapi sebab tak bukak singgah makan ice-cream..wah2, sedap jugak ice-cream ni..teksturnya lembut sgt..last week mint flavour tapi kita bleh gak pilih flavour lain..as for me, pilih mint and vanilla. my cik abang kata ice-cream ni tak sedap..heheh :-D. taste dia lain kot..ice-cream Morrison lagi sedap agaknya :lol_teethfull:

Celebrating our 1st anniversary at Nandos

Yesterday was our 1st anniversary..at first agak pening fikir nak celebrate kat mana. sini bukan macam Malaysia yg bersepah kedai2 makan best. balik2 makan kat kedai sama..hehe, ayat orang tak reti bersyukur ni LOL. Last saya suggest makan kat Nandos ajela..parking pun senang n service pun puas hati. Lagipun chicken kat Nandos tu memang my favourite..rasanya boleh kot makan sorang2 the whole chicken 8-)

After makan2, kami bertiga ke Kirkstall Abbey...tak jauh dari Nandos..tepi jalan je abbey tu..actlly ni first time saya dtg sini..cik abang dah penah pegi bawak my mom n mom in law.tapi malangnya aritu diaorg kunci plak pagar abbey..so tak bleh nak masuk dalam..just amik gamba dari luar ajela :-(

Hari ketiga kami ke Edinburgh pulak..dalam 1 jam dari Glasgow..smpai2 tengok ramai sangat tourist..mybe sebab cuti sekolah ..pastu ramai yg nak spend summer holiday kat sini..kami amik bus sight seeing yang colour merah tu..saya dan abg kena bayar 19 pound utk dua orang..walaupun agak mahal tapi kira okla sebab penat jugak nak keliling bndar edinburgh dgn jalan kaki je..kalau naik bas ni dia pusing kat tempat2 attraction.. :-)

Di Edinburgh yg menarik tentula Edinburgh Castle..tapi kami tak masuk dalam pun, tengok n amik gamba dari luar..mahal btul tiket, 12 pound sorang..takpela asal sampai sudah :-D sempat gak beli sourvenir kat sana, scarves corak kotak2 tu..orang panggil tartan kalo tak silap 8-) ingat nak beli skirt macam org Scottish selalu pakai tu..tapi bila pikir balik just boleh pakai kt umah je seksi nnti abang marah, terpaksala cancel

Falkirk Wheel and University of Glasgow

The Millennium Link was an ambitious £84.5m project with the objective of restoring navigability across Scotland on the historic Forth & Clyde Canal and the Union Canal, providing a corridor of regenerative activity through central Scotland.

One major challenge in this objective was the fact that the Forth and Clyde Canal lay 35m (115ft) below the level of the Union Canal. Historically, the two canals had been joined at Falkirk by a flight of 11 locks that stepped down across a distance of 1.5km, but these has been dismantled in 1933, breaking the link.

What was required was a method of connecting the two canals by some means of lifting two boats down the 35m drop as quickly and simply as possible. British Waterways were keen to present a visionary solution taking full advantage of the opportunity to create a truly spectacular and fitting structure that would suitably commemorate the Millennium and act as a symbol for years to come.

The resultant, perfectly balanced structure that is The Falkirk Wheel – the world’s first rotating boat lift – was the eventual outcome of British Waterways working together with a design team that combined the international experience of joint venture contractor Morrison-Bachy-Soletanche with leading specialists from Ove Arup Consultants, Butterley Engineering and Scotland-based RMJM architects
